Hawaii Moped Rules & Requirements:

Mopeds are considered bicycles in the State of Hawaii. This allows for easier use and registration. For your convenience we have listed some Hawaii Moped laws. The laws listed below are not all the laws that pertain to Mopeds in Hawaii. We include a detailed list of Hawaiian Moped Rules with each sale.

Moped Age Requirement in Hawaii
No person less than fifteen and a half years of age shall drive a moped. Additionally all Moped Riders are required to hold a valid drivers license but do not need a Motorcycle certification.

Hawaii Moped Registration
Mopeds are required to be registered, the registration process is the same as a bicycle, registration paperwork can be found at any satellite City Hall.

Hawaii Moped Insurance
Mopeds do not require vehicle insurance in the State of Hawaii.
