Frequently Asked Questions
What are the differences between a 4-Stroke moped and a 2-Stroke Moped.
A 2-Stroke moped has two separate tanks for oil and fuel, this means that the oil is burned up as it is injected into the carburator with the fuel. This complete use of oil requires regular filling of the oil tank, additionally the 2-stroke creates more smoke and noise than the 4-stroke moped. However the benefits of the 2-stroke are the power and torque of the engine. The 2-stroke engine has all of its power in the low and mid range giving it great acceleration and hill climbing abilities.
A 4-stroke Moped has the same oil system as your car, with the moped's oil being changed at regular service intervals. This type of moped is much quieter and enviromentally friendly, the 4-stroke has a power band that is located in the mid to upper range which gives the moped a slower acceleration but more power once the moped is moving at speed.
Both models of engines are great for Hawaii, and what you use your moped for will determine which engine type will work for you. Please contact our sales department in Honolulu for more info or to have any questions answered. Contact Us.

On Oahu you will receive all your required paperwork when we deliver the moped. For the other Islands we normally mail the Certificate of Origin (MSO), bill of sale and other required documents 1-2 business days after we ship your moped. We request that each customer confirm their VIN after receipt of the vehicle. To confirm: simply send an email to info@pacificmopeds.com, include your original order/invoice number for the moped and the VIN of your moped in the email subject or body.
The VIN (Vehicle Identification Number) is a unique 17 digit combination of letters and numbers. It can be used to trace back the vehicle to the manufacturer as well as identify the model and year it was produced. The VIN can be found on the outside of the shipping carton or on the frame.
For registration on Maui and Hawaii, you will need to first have a safety check done.
